Devotional: “So that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.” ~ Philippians 1:10-11, ESV.

Challenge: As with any church we have many hurdles to overcome. Some we have dealt with in the past and some are yet to come. This is not new and is expected. When we face such hurdles we need to come before the Lord and pray “for what is excellent”. D. A. Carson lists three clues fro Apostle Paul when he prayed from the Philippians. “First, Paul assumes if [they] are going to discern and approve what is best, their love will have to ‘abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight.’” Carson says if we want to strive for excellence we need to pray for love. Is this where are hearts truly are? So, when we face hurdles we can approach it in love and humility?

Prayer: Mission Community – Monterra. Tapestry Family – Matthew, Joanne, Brian, George, Esther, Elizabeth & Kenneth.
