Devotional: “Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? … And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’” ~ Matthew 25:37 & 40, ESV.
Challenge: Church is the people, not the building or the programs. But what about those few we just cannot stand being around? Carson says, “If only we could enjoy church without people…” But what about the church as the people? This is where prayer and a servant’s hearts come in. The fourth chapter in Carson’s book Praying with Paul is titled “Praying for Others”. We need to “always relate every aspect of Christian life and service to people.” And, yes, even to those we cannot stand. How are we serving and praying for those in our churches?
